Morningside Speculative Fiction is a bi-weekly workshop and critique group for Sci-Fi, Speculative, and Horror writers. The writers in the group have a firm foundation on the craft. The main purpose of the group is to provide necessary feedback to other writers prior to submitting to agents and producers following a tested and proven format.
Feedback.
We all need someone outside the world we've created to look at our work and be sure others will see on the page what we see in our heads.
Revision.
All writers must revise in order to streamline their storytelling techniques and tell the best possible story. In Sci-Fi, the genre is dominated by metaphor and allegory; therefore the science fiction writer much reach a certain level of clarity in their work in order to achieve success. This workshop will provide support as well as the discipline necessary to finish your work.
Marketing.
Much of the publishing world is changing and the science fiction genre is also evolving along with the new technologies. Publishers are finding new ways of distributing their stories and sci-fi writers are on the forefront of this revolutionary shift in the publishing world's idea of distribution and franchise branding.
