Screenwriting
Untitled Document

Morningside Screenwriting and Playwrights is a bi-weekly workshop and critique group for intermediate to advanced writers, filmmakers, and directors. The writers in the group have a firm foundation on the craft. The main purpose of the group is to provide necessary feedback to other writers prior to submitting to agents and producers following a tested and proven format.

Feedback.

We all need someone outside the world we've created to look at our work and be sure others will see on the page what we see in our heads.

Discipline.

Writers are prolific in our minds, and with friends. However, when it comes to actual writing, we are one lazy bunch. A writing group is like a literary chain gang, forcing each member to stay writing to have something to submit when it's his or her turn to be critiqued.

Competition.

Seeing the person next to you turning in ten great pages make you want to do the same. You feel that if the person sitting next to you can write that well, so can you, with a little work.
