SCREENWRITING

Morningside Screen, TV, and Playwriting group is a weekly interdisciplinary writing workshop and critique group for screenwriters, playwrights, and TV writers. Members provide constructive feedback to each other before submitting their work to contests, agents, and producers.

We all need someone outside the world we've created to look at our work and ensure decision-makers and investors will see on the page what we've imagined.

We meet weekly Monday evenings, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., virtually on Zoom. Each workshop is limited to six writers because it is the best way to guarantee that each member's work gets the attention it deserves.

We use a glass booth format which allows for uninterrupted feedback during the workshop. It also forces everyone to listen to each other and streamline the feedback offered. We are looking for writers seeking representation, publication, and production.

If you are looking for a creative, nurturing, and supportive environment, we are a click and a virtual workshop away.

DISCIPLINE

Writers are prolific in our minds, and with friends. However, when it comes to actual writing, we are one lazy bunch. A writing group is like a literary chain gang, forcing each member to stay writing to have something to submit when it's his or her turn to be critiqued.

COMPETITION

Seeing the person next to you turning in ten great pages make you want to do the same. You feel that if the person sitting next to you can write that well, so can you, with a little work.
